Restoring Hope to Broken and Wounded People

Don't Give Up
by Grace Owens

If you feel discouraged
And don't know where to turn
Maybe God has a lesson
That He wants you to learn, so
Don't give up
The best is yet to come.

If you're facing financial loss
And there is no end in sight
Just think of the loss Christ suffered
When He died upon the cross.
He left His home in glory
To ransom you and me
That we might be with Him
Throughout all eternity, so
Don't give up
The best is yet to come.

If you're hurting from the guilt of sin,
Something you really didn't mean
to get in
But Satan lured you, and you were weak
And did not the Lord's guidance seek.
Sin breaks fellowship
But God in His great Love
Wants to restore that fellowship
With forgiveness from above, so
Don't give up
The best is yet to come.

If you're suffering from a heartache
God wants to comfort you.
Although the road ahead looks dim,
Pour out all your grief to Him.
The burden of your heart He'll bear
Because He knows, He loves, He cares.
He'll show you the way to peace and rest.
If you will trust Him, He will bless, so
Don't give up
The best is yet to come.

For the DOHCRC Counselor
by MTF

Colors could make thousand rainbows
Tongues could speak thousand words
Pain could draw thousand pictures
True friends could keep two hearts as one.

When my life is ebbing away
When hope was taken away
When heart was wounded
When soul was broken
You extended your hands.

Thank you for your life
For opening your heart
For sharing your thought
For keeping me warm and safe
For tending to my needs
For your willingness to journey with me
You have the heart of Samaritan
Who restores the dying soul.

The hope you instill will never ever fade away
But it will grow deeper and higher
like a tree to the field which break forth
its roots to the deep soil and leaves to the sky.

We, Counselors, are human too.
We are no "iron men who needed no one
except God and God alone." We get tired and
weary and yes, hurt, too. While God is able
to provide us our inner strength, he uses
"people to comfort people who comfort
people" (2 Cor.7_4-10)

Thank you, MTF!
